Powers has been an attorney for more than 25 years, focusing his practice on business transactions in a wide variety of industries.  Prior to co-founding PG Law, David was a long-standing equity partner in the law firm now known as Nelson Mullins Broad and Cassel, one of the largest firms in Florida and on the Eastern Seaboard.

David has a broad range of experience as a transactional attorney, including representation of purchasers and sellers in public company mergers and acquisitions.  His corporate and securities experience covers a wide array of industries, public company representation, venture capital and "angel" investments, debt financing, private placements, shareholder and partnership agreements, technology development and licensing, employment matters and joint ventures.

He has considerable experience in health care transactional work, with ongoing representation of numerous group practices, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, other medical providers, surgery centers and medical facility developers.

David also has considerable experience in representing real estate development companies in structuring joint ventures with equity investor partners.  In fact, he was named a finalist for the 2012 Daily Business Review Top Dealmakers of the Year Award in the industrial real estate category.

Prior to attending law school, David was licensed in Florida as a Certified Public Accountant and worked as a tax consultant with a Big Four accounting firm.
